Normalized ghost imaging

چکیده
We present an experimental comparison between different iterative ghost imaging algorithms. Our experimental setup utilizes a spatial light modulator for generating known random light fields to illuminate a partially-transmissive object. We adapt the weighting factor used in the traditional ghost imaging algorithm to account for changes in the efficiency of the generated light field. We show that our normalized weighting algorithm can match the performance of differential ghost imaging. © 2012 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (030.4280) Noise in imaging systems; (030.6140) Speckle; (110.1650) Coherence imaging; (200.1130) Algebraic optical processing. Optimization of thermal ghost imaging: high-order correlations vs. background subtraction.
We compare the performance of high-order thermal ghost imaging with that of conventional (that is, lowest-order) thermal ghost imaging for different data processing methods. Particular attention is given to high-order thermal ghost imaging with background normalization and conventional ghost imaging with background subtraction. The contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the ghost image is used as the...

Introduction Ghost imaging is a newly proposed methodology for magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) that eliminates the need for image subtraction. Using a 3D pulse sequence that acquires slices outside of the body, the method works by modulating arterial signal to produce ghost artifacts. Arterial ghost artifacts localizing in air outside of the body are then processed and viewed along multipl...
متن کاملGhost imaging in reflection: Resolution, contrast, and signal-to-noise ratio
Ghost imaging is a transverse imaging technique that relies on the correlation between a pair of light fields, one that has interacted with the object to be imaged and one that has not. Most ghost imaging experiments have been performed in transmission, and virtually all ghost imaging theory has addressed the transmissive case. Yet stand-off sensing applications require that the object be image...
متن کاملThe Physics of Ghost imaging
One of the most surprising consequences of quantum mechanics is the nonlocal correlation of a multi-particle system observable in joint-detection of distant particle-detectors. Ghost imaging is one of such phenomena. Taking a photograph of an object, traditionally, we need to face a camera to the object. But with ghost imaging, we can image the object by pointing a CCD camera towards the light ...

Fixed-scale speckles are used in existing ghost imaging system, while the current instrument can achieve multiscale speckles ghost imaging. This paper focuses on the research of compressed sensing ghost imaging system using multi-scale speckles. Through the computer simulation and using the four resolution scales image as the original image, restored images are obtained to analysis on a variety...
